On the sixth day of Christmas...

My kids are just not into the Christmas music this year. As much as they enjoy banging around on tamborines and toy guitars the rest of the year, there's been nary a Jingle Bells medley in December.

I turned on the Peanuts Christmas album while we were decorating the Christmas tree, and O. went over and switched it to his dinosaur music CD. They whine, wheedle and cry if I try to turn off the DVD player in the car in favor of carols. N. likes me to sing her a Baby Jesus song or two at bedtime. But at other times of the day if I break into a rendition of "Up on the Housetop," I get a "Stop singing, Mommy!" Thank goodness the baby still likes it if I hum just about any old off-key tune to him while he hangs out on my chest.

The other two would apparently rather sing him their own creations rather than wear out all those old standbys.

Awesome. I love seeing pink and yellow clouds and flying my head on the pillow. =>

PS: I keep a bottle of Tums on my bedside table, too. Nice to have a kindred heartburn spirit!
